Zion Armstrong
Zion Armstrong is a values-based leader recognised for his ability to connect and empower teams, foster inclusive culture, and grow talent. He believes that when you put people first, results always follow.
Born and raised in West Auckland, Zion’s path wasn’t straightforward. Athletics and a strong mentor helped redirect his early years, leading him to represent New Zealand in the 400m hurdles at the Commonwealth Games and the IAAF World Junior Championships, where he became a national record holder.
Zion spent 24 years with Adidas, progressing through senior roles in Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, and the United States before becoming President of Adidas North America. He led 12,500 staff and more than doubled revenue to over US$6 billion, working with global icons including Lionel Messi, Pharrell Williams, and Patrick Mahomes.
Today, he is CEO of children’s apparel company Jamie Kay and sits on the boards of KMD Brands and US-based Cosmo. His leadership has been recognised through the Adidas Chairman’s Award for Leadership Excellence, two-time Asia Pacific MVP honours, and as a Kea World Class New Zealander in 2022. He also serves as a Patron of Police, supporting youth and community initiatives across New Zealand.
