Robyn Malcolm

Robyn Malcolm is one of New Zealand’s most acclaimed actors, but her influence extends far beyond the screen. With a career spanning more than three decades, she has earned her place as a respected creative leader, industry changemaker and advocate for fair work, sustainability and authentic representation.

She is best known for her powerful roles in Outrageous Fortune, The Lord of the Rings and After the Party, which she co-created and led to international acclaim. The series was nominated for Best International TV Series at the 2024 BAFTA Awards, and Robyn won Best Actress at the Series Mania Festival in France for her performance. Her body of work also includes the Emmy-nominated Top of the Lake, Apple TV’s Black Bird, Netflix’s The Survivors and the Pike River film, where she portrayed Sonya Rockhouse alongside Melanie Lynskey.

As co-founder of the New Zealand Actors’ Company, Robyn has created platforms for local talent, championed equity rights in film and launched the socially conscious brand campaign Robyn’s Undies, raising funds for women’s health. Known for her directness, humour and heart, she shares powerful insights into leading with purpose, challenging the status quo and navigating change with courage and compassion.
