Adam Goodes
Adam Goodes is a celebrated athlete and staunch advocate for Indigenous Australians. A proud Adnyamathanha man, Adam is renowned for his resilience, optimism, and inspirational leadership. His dedication to his community is evident through numerous initiatives, including co-founding The Goodes-O'Loughlin Foundation in 2009, which focuses on enhancing educational opportunities for Indigenous children.
Adam's illustrious AFL career is a testament to his outstanding achievements. He is a dual AFL Brownlow Medallist and premiership player for the Sydney Swans, a four-time All-Australian, and a member of the Indigenous Team of the Century. His unparalleled legacy in the Australian Football League was solidified with his retirement in 2015 as the Swans' games record holder and one of the sport's most decorated players.
Beyond sports, Adam's influence is far-reaching. He advises organisations on their Reconciliation Action Plans and was honoured as Australian of the Year in 2014 for his advocacy against racism. He sits on the board of the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation and is chairman of the Support Through Australian National Disasters (S.T.A.N.D) program, a relief initiative founded by Woolworths and the Salvation Army. Additionally, he serves as an ambassador for prominent brands including Toyota, David Jones, Qantas, Woolworths, and Wanderlust.
